Answering moms questions!
Okay
there are 12 in our district! Only three sisters and we are in a trio!
Sister Mavy and Sister Kunz. They are both so cute and I get along with
them super well! Sister Mavy is from Sacramento California and Sister
Kunz is from Herriman Utah! We are all going to Portugal Porto. The
Elders in our district are going to our same mission except three of
them are going to Angola Africa. I love my district.
THE FOOD. Okay I don't want to sound ungrateful because I truly am
grateful that they provide us with food, but we just get salad everyday
cuz it isn't that amazing! Haha. That is a testimony in itself that
people stay here even when the food isn't that great. Everything else is
amazing and the spirit is so strong here!
In my class my
teacher just speaks to us in portuguese the whole time and I have no
idea what she is saying. Haha. I will get it though. My companions are
picking up the language pretty good and they are helping me. We have
already taught our investigator twice in Portuguese! We did pretty good
considering that we don't know the language. It is obvious that the Lord
is on our side and is helping us and the spirit is the real teacher:)
We got to go to the temple today
and I loved it! So pretty! I felt at home going there. It was nice:) Both of my companions are so in tune with the spirit,
outgoing, funny, and hard workers. We get a long great!!:)
Well,
I don't have much time to talk about the rest of my week, but when I
say this place is weird it is nothing like any where else! The spirit is
so strong. Everyone here is a worthy temple recommend holder. That just
gives you an idea of how amazing everyone is. Sunday was my favorite!
It was full of uplifting messages. We watched The Character of Christ
talk given by Elder Bednar and he said true conversion is turning away
from the natural man and focusing on others and I think that is so true
and it hit me so hard. I am on a mission for others!:) I noticed that if
I study for the needs of my investigator and learn the language so I
can help others know the truth I learn much faster!:) and when we are
struggling we tend to pity ourselves and that is not what Christ does.
He turns outward and focuses on others! I know that we can come closer
to Christ by focusing on others:)
